About Joyce M. Mermini, LCSWHello and welcome! My name is Joyce Mermini and I provide psychotherapy to tweens, adolescents, adults, couples and families. Through an empowering based perspective, I focus on a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, anger management and relationship problems. My expertise is in the area of eating disorders, specializing in improving body image, enhancing self-esteem, and addressing psychological aspects of bariatric weight loss surgery. Using a non-dieting approach leads to a healthier relationship with food. I facilitate a group for adults, identifying triggers as well as developing coping strategies and relapse prevention techniques. I also specialize in life transition management with extensive experience preparing students for high school, college and the "real world." I provide counseling for mothers addressing their unique challenges of motherhood and positive self care. Utilizing a variety of treatment techniques, I tailor interventions to particular needs, symptoms and goals. |
I believe in getting to the bottom of "Why?" while implementing practical, behavioral techniques, encouraging relief and hope necessary to work on long-term change. Seeking help can be a very overwhelming and humbling experience. But it is also a step toward insight, growth and fulfillment. Looking forward to hearing from you!
