About Diana Lapp, MSW, LSW

My name is Diana Lapp, and I am a New Jersey Licensed Social Worker (LSW) with experience working in the social service field in various settings. I am exceptionally aware of people’s unique needs and have a strong commitment to improving the quality of life for clients.

I specialize in providing supportive services and counseling to various populations. I focus on various issues in mental health with adults and children, depression, anxiety, anger management, and crisis intervention. I work with children and families assisting with life stressors that can affect the family structure.

Treatment modalities that I use are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Strengths-Based, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Crisis Intervention, and teach coping skills to manage symptoms and stressors.
I am a creative person, who is dedicated to meet the needs of those I work with. My goal is to provide a relaxed environment that allows those to feel comfortable to share their concerns in a safe place. I find my experience allows me to support clients to reach their goals.

I empower those to find their inner strength to achieve their aspirations by making them measurable, achievable, positive, and specific (MAPS). I teach clients to understand how moods, thoughts, and behaviors are interrelated and can affect reaching our ambitions. I am also a true believer in self-care, and I practice the mindfulness skills I use in the sessions.

I find it helpful to teach people valuable tools to decrease anxiety and depression, as well as learn distress tolerance skills to manage stress. It is important to look at the person as a whole and see how mental and medical health can be related; doing this allows the proper care coordination.

I also use behavioral modifications regarding behavior change when working with children and families. I work relentlessly to make sessions fun to keep children engaged. Interventions I use can be books, videos, role-playing, arts, and crafts, and much more. I tailor the interventions to the needs of the child. Overall, I am an empathic, passionate, hard worker, who will be dedicated to being that change agent for you.
